CASA Latin American Theatre Festival 1

CASA Latin American Theatre Festival 1
1. October 2007 - 3. November 2007

Bringing international writing to the UK.
CASA Latin American Theatre Festival is the first of an new annual festival celebrating Latin American theatre and culture. Each year, new plays from at least 3 different Latin American countries will be presented at the festival.

We work with international artists to collaborate creatively and for the 2007 festival we are proud to bring over from Latin America two artists: actress Laura Bauer (Argentina) and writer/director Luis Iban (Mexico). For the first 3 weeks of the festival, a new play from each of Argentina, Mexico and El Salvador will be presented, then for the final 2 weeks, all three plays will be played in repertory with audiences able to see all three on the final Saturdays.

Poetry readings, art exhibitions, music nights, a Puerto Rican play reading season will all happen alongside the main programme of plays.

REVIEWS

"One can only admire the ambition of Daniel Goldman, the Artistic Director behind the Casa Latin American Theatre Festival at St Andrews Church, Holborn. One hopes that this is the start of a longer term relationship between Tangram Theatre Company and the Theatre of Latin America, far too little of which is currently seen in the United Kingdom. Judging by these initial samples, there must be a vast, untapped treasure trove from which we could all benefit." - Philip Fisher, British Theatre Guide
